Personal Statement
I fell in love with baseball when I was eight years old. It all started with coach pitch where I learned how to throw and properly swing a bat. Over the years, my dad and I have put in a ton of work to get to where I can compete at a higher level. My dad played baseball in high school and has helped coach a high school team; having him as a personal coach has helped me to become a better player. He’s not your typical Little League dad/coach. We’ve put a lot of time into weight training, arm strengthening drills, hitting drills and fielding & footwork drills. I’ve learned that when the regular season ends, there is more work to do, there are no days off from baseball for me. I've had many ups and downs in my baseball adventure, I've definitely learned how to take a loss, but I've also learned how to bounce back from those losses and try harder the next time around.
Getting through middle school was tough for me because I wasn’t able to comprehend what I was reading. But as I’ve grown older, something just clicked inside my head and I’ve done better in my freshman year of high school than I ever did in middle school. I plan on continuing rising through the ranks of my class by putting as much tenacity in my studying as I do into baseball. I’m looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe with my talent that I can move on to the next level and compete for a college team. I have an indefatigable work ethic which was instilled at a very young age and leadership skills that will make an immediate and positive impact on your program.
