Ryan Stewart '21 Recruiting Profile

I fell in love with baseball the first time I played the game.  This love for the game has fueled my drive to always improve and be the best player I can be.  From this inner drive, I have developed a mantra of sorts: "Do what others won't, to play like others can't".  That level of dedication helped me rise above my competition because I spend the extra time in the gym and in the cages, doing what others won't and getting an edge on my toughest adversaries.

My goal for college is to be a starting player on a highly competitive team.  This level of competition will help me further my game mentally and physically.  At the college level, my main focus would be to work at becoming an integral part of a championship worthy team.  My passion and dedication to this sport has brought me this opportunity.  I realize now to have a chance at fulfilling a dream of playing in the MLB, I will need to advance my skills to the next level with a coach and staff who believe in me.  

I have learned to believe in myself through hard work, dedication and results:  Grinding out work outs and BP sessions when it was too easy to just pack it in and go home.  I plan to continue on this path of success as it has produced improvements in my game over the years.  Everything I put my mind to I give one hundred percent.  I want to improve.  I want to hit this ball.  This is my time to make it happen.  Thinking like this has always been my mentality.  This is who I am and this defines my character.  My dedication on the field and in the gym also translates to my academics.  I take my education seriously and I like to stay on top of my grades in all of my classes.  I understand that this plays a vital role in my collegiate baseball career.  I will remain dedicated on and off the field to surpass the eligibility standards and continue to invest in my future.
