Michael Poirier '19 Recruiting Profile

I am in the 2019 class at Ballston Spa High School, in Ballston Spa, NY, where I take many Advanced Placement, college, and honors classes.   I have a GPA of 95% and have recorded over 100 service hours in the community at church, school activities and helping younger players in our baseball program.  Furthermore, I am involved in many clubs and activities like jazz band, National Honor Society, Ski Club, Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Golf as well as Varsity Baseball.  Outside of school, I enjoy hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, golfing, flying drones, playing piano and working out.

I am mainly a middle infielder but I also have played a great deal of 3rd base.  I also played first base for my varsity school team in my sophomore year.  I also am a very effective pitcher.  On offense, I have been a leadoff, 2 or 3 hitter my whole life.  I am a very smart base runner and often times find and take opportunities to take an extra base.
