Personal Statement
Hi Coaches,
I am a left-handed pitcher from New York. I am sure you have seen hundreds of other players just like me, but I would like to let you know that I do in fact stand out. First and foremost, I do my best on and off the field for my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I am a good team player, I have never yelled at any of my teammates. I am positive, always looking for ways to get my teammates into a good, competitive, ready to win, mood. I try to be a leader on the team, I have been a captain on my various teams throughout the years. I would dare say that no coach would tell you that I have ever given up. I am a fighter. Even if I came into a game to relieve and my team is down 25-0, I will still give you my all. My passion for the game is unmatched. I am always looking for ways to improve, by watching videos or working out. I am a hard worker.
On the physical side of the game, I will always do my best and do my best to glorify God. As a pitcher, I love pitching backwards and really messing with the batter. I use my intelligence to try and get into the mind of the opposing batter and get him out. I do not use my fastball as much as other pitchers, I love using my forkball, curve, change, and cutter to keep hitters guessing and then locating my fastball on the corners for a strikeout.
My work ethic applies to my studies as well. I have been able to maintain a 3.9 GPA throughout my high school and middle school years while taking honors courses in math and science, and plan to pursue engineering or mathematics in college. As great as my love for baseball, I know that I am going to college to study and prepare for life.
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to look at me.
