Personal Statement

In life, I strive to do my best even when it seems like it doesn't matter. Ever since I was a kid, baseball has been a huge part of my life. Whether it was hitting plastic balls in my backyard or pitching in the 7th inning with 2 outs, it has been my passion. As I got older, baseball became a huge priority in my life. I take pride in my work ethic and my performance both on and off the field. The desire I have to get better drives me to work harder and become stronger and to one day accomplish my goal of pitching in college and beyond.

In Middle School, my goal was to make the team as a second basemen, but as the years went on I was transformed into a starting pitcher. I started two games and relieved games as well. I threw two complete games and a shutout in middle school. After that I fully transformed myself into a starting pitcher. I worked with many coaches and worked on all my pitches. I located my fastball better and created sharper drop on my curve ball.

When high school arrived, my goal was just to make the team again as a starter, but I exceeded that goal tremendously. In my first year of high school I was 6-0 with a 1.40 ERA. I was the number 1 starter on the team throwing 3 complete games and 1 shutout. I struck out 20 batters and walked 7. The team went 17-2.  Even though I don't throw the hardest, I learned to spot my pitches extremely well on the inside and outside corners and place my curve ball where I wanted. My next goal is to make varsity as a Sophomore. I work extremely hard for any goal I have and try to not only meet my goal, but exceed it.

Although baseball is a huge part of my life, academics always come first. I work very hard on my grades. I have a 3.7 GPA and always try to improve. I want to use my academic and athletic skills to pitch and be successful in college.

  • Lean, wiry frame with square build. 5-foot-7, 137-pounds. Pitching – Simple, repeatable delivery with consistent direction towards target. Stays balanced at leg lift and maintains body control into stride. Athletic delivery with subtle drop and drive action on his backside. Arm action has quick stab after hand break and then shortens up while getting to high ¾ release point. Hides ball well and it jumps on hitters out of hand. Quick hand speed out front with consistent extension over front side. Competitive demeanor on the mound. Pounded the zone with 4-pitch mix and flashed advanced pitchability.
