Matthew Wimmer '18 Recruiting Profile

   Ever since I can remember I've been around baseball. It was always on television in our house and I would often go into the backyard and hit with my father when I was little. Playing college baseball has been a dream of mine since a very young age.

   In the classroom my goals have always been to reach the high honor roll and to graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma. In college I expect to work just as hard to maintain a high grade point average.

   One thing that sets me apart is my mentality. I don't let up when I'm playing, no matter if we're up 10 - 0 or down 10 - 0. I will always give my best. Additionally, I always look for ways to improve. There's always room to get better. For example, in 7th grade I was cut from the modified basketball team. I felt I was denied the chance to show my talents on the basketball court. So I worked and worked and the next year as an 8th grader I made the team. I was a starter that year and was one of our best players. I will bring this attitude to whichever college I attend.
