My name is Jack Karcher and I am a member of the 2020 class at Garden City High School in Garden City, New York. I am primarily a left fielder but I also have experience at right field as well as center. I am currently 6' 0" and 155 lbs. Ever since I first started playing baseball I’ve been a fanatic in constantly improving my swing and throwing mechanics as well as my overall baseball abilities. I’ve spent hundreds of hours in front of a mirror analyzing my swing and throwing mechanics to make sure they were perfect. I also watched youtube videos of the best major leaguers and then copied their movements. In addition, I worked for several weeks doing small tasks at my father’s work in order to earn enough money to buy a batting cage for my backyard so I could take batting practice every day. I will be a good fit for your college program because I am a highly competitive young man who makes sure to do whatever it takes to win no matter what I am trying to accomplish.
I attribute my success on the baseball field and in the classroom to the strong work ethic my parents instilled in me from a young age. They told me that if I wanted to master anything I was going to have to be an exceptionally hard worker and I took that advice to heart. Also, I am committed to helping my community by being an altar server at my local church and doing volunteer community service in the Boy Scouts, where I am currently an active member as well as a Life Scout striving to become an Eagle Scout. Additionally, I am a member of the National Honor Society, a prestigious academic organization with rigorous academic and community service requirements for admission. My goal is to play collegiate baseball at the highest level possible while still earning an engineering or business degree.
