Michael Dutch '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches,

I'm sure that you've found that there is no lack of talent when it comes to recruiting ball players. I pride myself in what is left out of the metrics in baseball. To the layman, they see numbers or statistics as objective, accurate, and incontestable. But, as seen often in baseball, numbers are softer than what we commonly assume. I believe that the intangibles of baseball are some of the most important qualities of the game. Not only do they apply just to the sport, but rather everything in life, such as helping me succeed in school, and my future professional endeavors. 

My work ethic, baseball IQ, and passion for the game are all things that I pride myself in. I have the heart, grit, devotion, and dedication it takes to play the game. When I was 14 years old, I broke my middle finger on my throwing hand in the semi-final game of a tournament. That same day, I pitched in the championship game and played a big role in giving my team the trophy. I am of high character and well liked by my peers, making me a great team player.  I am dedicated to improving every aspect of my game, and becoming a college scholastic baseball player.
