Personal Statement
My goals for college are ambitious, just as they have been throughout high school. My college goals include earning the best grades possible by remaining focused and taking responsibility for all of my actions and everything that affects me. I also want to become a stronger and more intelligent baseball player through supporting my team in every way possible. As my father has taught me, and as I have learned it to be true, remaining determined and humble has made me the person I am today. This mantra, has allowed me to not only excel in everything that I do, but has made me a more compassionate person.
What makes me a good candidate for your team is the fact that you will not find a more determined and dedicated person who continually gets the job done, successfully, no matter the circumstances. Someone who knows how to "keep his mouth shut" and let my work speak for itself. When I am involved in something, you can count on me remaining passionate and committed to it.
I guess what makes me different from other students/athletes is the fact that I have been told from many of my peers that I am the most respectful, honest, motivated, determined, mature, committed, hard working person they know. On one occasion I was told that I am an inspiration to others. I am involved in many extra-curricular activities in school and what sets me apart is the fact that every 'little" quiz, test, swing, practice, training session, or small assignment, matters to me. Paying attention to detail is very important to me. When I was campaigning for class president I used a slogan that stated " character is what a person does when no one else is watching." I live by this and always continue to remain humble in everything I do.
