Aaron Gitelman '21 Recruiting Profile

As I am entering my senior year in high school, I realize more and more each day that I will not let high school be the last stop of my baseball career. Baseball has had a tremendous impact on my life and is my true passion. It has taught me countless life skills that I will never forget and for that I am thankful. It has imparted on me the lesson that through hard work, dedication and commitment, one can achieve their desired goals and fulfill their life-long passion. A passion that I have had since I was five years old.

The true gauge of my love for this sport was when I broke my leg and had to sit out a whole summer while on the starting roster for my travel team. It was a tremendous learning experience for me. I still went to every game and cheered for my fellow teammates that summer. Others would have wallowed in the depression of not playing a sport that one loves, but it only served to teach me the importance of the word team rather than the individual. It was the catalyst that made me appreciate every practice and every game and fueled me to come back even stronger. I currently play at the varsity level for my high school as their starting catcher, and continue to start as the catcher for my travel team.

This same drive for the love of baseball has also propelled me to excel in school. I have been on the Honor Roll since the beginning of high school and intend to graduate high school with a 4.0 GPA. I have learned to balance the demands that both academics and baseball have placed on me and I am truly appreciative of the experience.

I hope to one day continue my baseball career as a part of your program. Talent can only get one so far, but only through hard work, dedication and practice can one continue to improve and grow. It is through this level of commitment that one can hone their skills. I am that individual and I look forward to meeting with you.
