Personal Statement
A school I would like to go to would consist of both strong academics and a competitive baseball program. I believe I can offer resilience and leadership to my future college. I am a resilient person because I am someone who handles constructive criticism well and then takes those words of advice and uses them as motivation to become an even better team player and person. I also have a good work ethic both on and off the field. For example, during my freshman year of high school, my Varsity team lost in our Division finals. As the starting second baseman that year, I was determined to come back the following year and help my team win it all. Therefore, last year, at the start of my sophomore baseball season, I was promoted to starting shortstop and then won the M.V.P and the coach's award for my team. This was my proudest moment in my athletic career.
As a student, I am also resilient because I realize that trying to maximize my effort is required to do well in school. For example, at the beginning of my sophomore year, I was almost failing my English class, but as I headed into the second semester, I went to extra help and stayed after school late which ended up in my getting the English Award at the year-end school awards ceremony. An academic goal of mine in college is to study hard and to graduate with a degree in Sports Management and Business. I have always strived to be resilient and a leader on and off the field.
