My name is Ryan Delmonte and I am a junior at Schreiber High School in Port Washington, New York. I am currently a starter on my Varsity baseball team.
I am a leader with the necessary athletic talent and personal grit who sets an example for my teammates. I have been described by my mentors as being “coachable.” Most importantly I feel I will qualify academically for your program. As passionate as I am about baseball I am just as committed to my academics.
Athletically, I am a true utility player and my coach can play me at any position. My speed, arm strength and high “baseball IQ” allow me to contribute at all positions. My strengths are utilized most effectively at shortstop and center field. My goal as lead off hitter is to get on base and create activity on the base path. My speed and understanding of pitcher mechanics allow me to get around effectively.
Academically, I am well organized and approach my studies with the same passion as a championship game. I currently have a 4.33 GPA. I received a 33 composite score on the ACT( 36 math). Juggling athletics and academics have helped me develop discipline and balance.
I plan on participating in college weekend showcases this coming summer and hope we can meet and discuss the possibility of becoming a part of your 2016 team. If you have any questions please contact me.
