Hi Coach,
My name is Philip Schurr, I am a 2021 catcher who has an extreme passion for baseball. With thirty six games played in our Covid-19 shortened summer season I batted .349 with a .457 OBP in the most competitive 17U league on Long Island and highly competitive regional tournaments . At this summer's Perfect Game 17U Northeast World Series I finished number 7 in the top 100 offensive performer category and was All Tournament. I can work long counts and bat third on my tournament team. I have good power to all fields, take pride in my catching and I also play a strong first base. I come from a High School with a history of producing great leaders and ball players. I am a leader on and off the field, being a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a Youth Ministry leader in my local church and a Volunteer Firefighter. I spend a lot of time in the gym and on the field working out. My physical stats are 6'00" and 190 pounds. With my families help, I have been able to grow into a strong leader and have learned valuable skills. With continued hard work on and off the field, I hope to be a great student athlete and an asset to my community. My ultimate goal is to continue to make my family proud.
