Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My ultimate goal is becoming the first college athlete and graduate in my family. Being raised by a single mom since I was 4 years old, I have learned what sacrifice, hard work, responsibility and being a leader is all about. After my ADHD diagnosis in first grade, I eventually realized that I had to work that much harder than everyone else to maintain my grades. I also knew attending Paramus Catholic HS was going to push me academically as well as athletically to be the best I could be. I am fortunate enough to play in perhaps the most competitive high school baseball division in New Jersey - Big North Conference United. My sophomore season I completed my 1st Varsity season in which my stats were as follows: 11 game appearances, 19 innings pitched, 22 strikeouts, 1.61 ERA, 3 wins, 2 saves and no losses. My goal for my upcoming Junior season is to be part of the starting rotation and continue to help my team win in more of a leadership role.
Upon completion of my first season playing elite levels of travel and showcase baseball in the summer and fall of 2015, I was named to the All Tournament Team TWICE after competing in the Perfect Game 16U BCS Finals in Fort Myers, FL and 16U Evoshield Classic, GA, in which we came in Third Place. I was named Championship MVP of 16U Blue Chip Prospect Tournament in Diamond Nation, NJ where I did not allow a run in 3 appearances including 2 Complete Game Shutouts in the 1st round of playoffs and the championship game. I am honored to have been a part of the elite Jersey Boyz Scout Team and look forward to continue playing competitive baseball in 2016 with the Jersey Seminoles.
While I am not fully decided, I am strongly considering a major in Rehabilitation and Therapy, among a few others and hope to find the right fit academically where I will also be able to make an impact and help my future team win!

- Selected as 1 of 6 pitchers for NJ Team vs NY and NE. "His fastball showed a good amount of late riding life at 80-83 miles-per-hour and his slider was tight and sweeping at 72-73 miles-per-hour. He did a fine job mixing in 74-75 MPH changeups as well. His changeups have good fading action and will develop into an above average pitch once he learns to not quicken his tempo and rhythm."

- 9/20/15 -- Montalvo is 5-foot-11, 155 pounds and has athletic actions on the mound. He has an uptempo delivery and gets going quickly down the slope. He pitches with quick, elbow climb arm action from a low 3/4 arm slot. His fastball has deceptive arm side run as the ball jump out of his hand. He adds and minuses on his fastball depending on count and his velocity ranged between 77 and 84 miles-per-hour. His slider is sweeping at 70-72 MPH and his changeup mimics his fastball and ranges in velocity (69-74 MPH).
