Jackson Shaw '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jackson Shaw. I am currently a junior at Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, a small town in Western North Carolina. My passion is baseball. I primarily play first base, but occasionally pitch. As a 6’3 player, I am a solid glove in the field and a consistent hard hitter at the plate. Last season, I received the “Heavy Hitter Award” for my high batting average. In addition, I play football.

In the classroom, I am a good student who strives to be a good example to others. As an athlete in such a small community, I know that younger players look up to me. I want to be the best role model I can be for them at all times by showing good sportsmanship and leadership both on and off the field.

I am driven and hardworking and will bring leadership, incentive and versatility to my team. My goal is to attend an institution in the Southeast where I can balance my time between my commitment to the baseball team and my academics.
