Justin Jones '20 Recruiting Profile

I was raised by athletic parents and have been participating in sports, primarily baseball and soccer, since I was four years old. Coaches have frequently commented on my team spirit, coachability and baseball awareness. I have always felt compelled to work harder as I physically matured slower than most of my teammates, though I have now caught up and continue to grow and strengthen.  I have dealt with adversity as I experienced an injury (broken finger) that limited play for most of my junior season. It only strengthened my resolve. As I prepare for a successful senior season, I led my 2019 summer league team, playing mostly college showcase games, with a team leading .682 batting average.

I learned the values of teamwork, commitment and sacrifice at an early age. I consider myself a leader, if not yet a captain, due to drive, work ethic and positive enthusiasm to motivate all of those around me. I am a strong middle infielder who has played mostly second base in high school and I believe this position is where I can be the most valuable to your program. My passion for baseball is reflected in my desire to pursue it as a profession in some capacity. I am working this summer in a part-time position with the Durham Bulls.

I am seeking a college program that will be a good fit both academically and athletically. I believe I have what it takes to compete at the college level and feel certain that I can make a positive and productive impact to your program. Thank you for your consideration.
