My name is Sam Thomasson and I am a baseball player from Charlotte, North Carolina. My primary positions are OF and RHP, however, I am versatile and can also play MIF as needed. I graduate in 2019 and attend Charlotte Catholic High School. I scored a 1440 on the SAT. My current, weighted GPA is 4.23. While I have been an All-Around athlete all of my life playing various sports, baseball has always been my passion. It all started before I could walk when I was picking up stuffed baseballs at 6 months old and swinging my first plastic bat at two years old. I began playing travel baseball at eight and by the time I was ten I was playing with a 13u team. My high school career first started at a small Catholic school where there initially was no baseball, which crushed me. My family and I fought hard to get a program established and were excited when one was implemented just in time for my freshman year. I started on the varsity team and continued through my sophomore year. That following summer I decided to make a switch to a new school, where there was a more established and competitive baseball program. I knew I wanted to pursue a college baseball career and felt that the move would better prepare me. At my new school, I started on the Varsity team as a Junior and also anticipate that I will start this year as a Senior.
I hope to attend a school with a good balance between academics and sports, so that I can develop all aspects of my life. I have always been very strong academically as since my sophomore year I have been involved in the National Honors Society at both of my schools. My competitive nature transcends between both the classroom and on the field. I am open minded to schools all over the country and of any size.
I play baseball because whenever I play it gives me a certain rush and I love the satisfaction of seeing myself improve. I will never stop working hard and making sure that no matter what I still enjoy baseball.
