Since I was 5 years old I have been a multi-sport athlete, but playing baseball is one of my favorites. I am very skilled in baseball with both throwing and hitting. I know I have some weaknesses in my game, but I keep trying to find ways to improve my overall skillset. I am not focused on my deficiencies or past mistakes, rather I challenge myself to accept them and to learn what I need to do to correct them. I know that I am going to be so much better in the future through continuous training, coaching and the study of baseball. I feel with my skills, my temperament and my desires to succeed that I am and I will be strong enough to represent baseball at the collegiate level.
As a chosen leader, I understand that my actions, discipline and motivation has an impact on every team member, coach and within the local community. I am a thorough communicator and believe it's the glue that keeps a team together. I thrive for personal and team improvement and push myself and my teammates to continue to bypass our goals. I am a team motivator and I work well under my coaches' direction and am coachable. I endeavor to be one of the hardest working athletes on the field.
In addition to my involvement in sports, I believe that my academics are extremely important and I have worked to maintain a high GPA, which includes taking AP classes. I have been involved in volunteer activities such as LEO club (Leadership, Experience, Opportunity) that has given me the opportunity to work with local charities, companies and the community assisting those in need. I am also involved in extracurricular activities, such as Band and was recently asked to provide an interview for our school yearbook as the "Most Rounded" student. I feel all of these activities help me to become a stronger individual, who has the ability to do so much more in the future.
As I move forward with my education, I would like to earn a degree at a college or university that meets both my academic and athletic needs. I am open to all options and hope to find the best match in a college or university that provides the highest level of competition for me. My goal is to become a positive role model within the college community and to be a mentor to others in my age group. I also want to to continue to be an even better role model to my younger sister and continue to be someone my family, friends, peers, teachers and coaches are proud to have in their lives.
