Starting varsity baseball as the only freshman was a great honor and opportunity for me. It was a jump start for my high school career as a baseball player. It also affected my academics as this gave me the drive to do my best in classes and challenged me to take honors and AP courses. When I injured my hamstring during workouts, I was determined not to miss the beginning of my sophomore baseball season. This injury motivated me and pushed me forward to strengthen and work through this obstacle. When baseball started I was ready and became a starter for my high school team. I attribute this mental attitude to God and I have learned not to look back but push forward through any challenges. I always keep my Lord and Savior first in my life and I thank Him everyday that He gave me the ability to play the sport I love.
I was fortunate enough to make All Conference my junior year, was on the All County baseball team and placed 2nd in the standings in All County for Player of the Year. I was also Player of the Year for Providence Grove High School 2017. I believe my goals for the 2018 season will be obtained in strike outs and ERA which will give me the skills to play college baseball. I am currently looking forward to majoring in accounting with the math skills that I have. My father and mother have been with me on this baseball journey and have influenced who I have become. I know I can make the sacrifices I need to be disciplined on and off the field in my faith, academics and athletics.
