2020 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I am a rising Senior who will graduate in 2021. As I reflect back on my High School career, winning the North Carolina High School State Baseball Championship as a freshman was the highlight of my high school career so far. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when our team lost in the State Final Four on a walk off single. That experience helped me grow as a person and led me to re-focus my own efforts on becoming a solid, more complete all around baseball player who is now capable of playing at the college level.
I was fortunate enough to be part of an amazing program, winning our High Schools 1st ever State Championship. We also made it to the State Final Four 3 straight seasons. I learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership the years without a trophy. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I honestly feel like my best baseball is still ahead of me! I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a two sport athlete and 2 time captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team!

- 12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Griffin is a MIF prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. In the field, Griffin shows active footwork with a quick first step. He makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange, making accurate throws to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Griffin field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands. He rotates his core through the zone well and drives the ball to his pull side. Griffin can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Griffin is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

- 08/09/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Griffin is a tall, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Griffin has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.
