Personal Statement

I started playing baseball at age 4 and have always dreamed of playing baseball at the pro level. My goal is to play baseball in college and always have baseball in my life. This game is in my blood and I can't imagine life without it. I attend Pine Lake Prep where they stress hard work and respect above all else and I completely believe in those values. I always put in my best effort no matter what the task is, in the classroom or on the diamond. I love to compete more than anything else and I take it everywhere I go. I love to win and I will do anything it takes for my team to succeed.

Uses a toe tap during the load, diving into the plate with his hands working back. Pull approach with a mostly flat barrel path. Inconsistent load affects timing and barrel awareness. Gets his barrel to it when loading in sync. Exit velocity recorded at 82 mph. Athletic on the infield with fluid actions. Above average hand funnel to the belt after catch. Quick transfers with an accurate arm across the diamond that topped at 77 mph. Recorded a 7.25 in the 60. On the mound, works to a slight coil at balance, crouched over the backside. Level, works back to on-line for the a square foot-strike. Some rhythm and effort in the delivery with a long arm swing to a high-3/4 slot. Average arm speed. Fastball at 77-79. Change-up has deception at 73-76. Featured two breaking balls with better action from a slider, working out of a lower slot from all other pitches. Slider has late side to side bite at 64-67. Breaking ball is a gradual 11/5 tilt out of the hand at 64-69. Showed an ability to land all three off-speed pitches.

Looks to get extension with his barrel working slightly uphill through the zone. Gap to gap approach with some feel for the barrel. Average bat speed with his exit velocity recorded at 78 mph. Athletically plays through balls on the infield with quick, fluid feet and average hands. Funnels to the midsection after catch with quick exchanges and a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Accurate arm across the diamond. Compact delivery on the mound with a quicker tempo. Short step to the side with his leg lift working just above his waist. In line to the plate with a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Fastball has some run at 71-74 mph. Curveball has gradual break with depth at 57-60 mph. Flashed a changeup with run at 63-65 mph. Recorded a 7.34 in the 60.
