I've been playing baseball for as long as I can remember. It has always been fun for me. It is something my dad, younger brother and I have in common. I hope to play for as long as I can and I dread the day I have to hang up my cleats.
When I was younger I didn't really have the "gift" or athleticism that other kids had. Because of this I have had to work really hard to get into great shape, build my strength and work on my speed. The challenges I faced when I was younger have taught me tremendous discipline and work ethic. I put more time and effort into training than anyone I know. Through this I have learned that it always takes hard work to be my best, and I know that I will have to continue working hard to achieve everything I want, both in baseball and in my life.
Not only do I work hard on and off the field, I also work hard in school. I am taking multiple high school courses in eighth grade and am in Academically Gifted classes. I work hard to maintain balance in school work and in sports. My parents have always been proud that I am self motivated and haven't ever had to be forced to do my homework. Ultimately, I know my education is one of the most important things in my life.
I want to play college baseball so I can have something to look forward to and something to grind and work towards. I want to accomplish something big in my life and I think going to college and playing sports could be part of what gets me there, teaching me discipline and how to always work hard no matter what. I also want something that can allow me to have amazing life experiences that I might not have the chance to experience otherwise.
