Tyler Owen '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tyler Owen, and I am a senior at Rosman High School.  My dream is to play big league baseball.  I began playing baseball when I was only four years old and have loved the game ever since.  At age eight, I began a travel ball career that I continue still today.  I have been honored to start on my high school varsity baseball team all four years of my high school career.

In addition to baseball, I am passionate about music and play the saxophone in my high school band.  I also enjoy playing the guitar and often join other local musicians in my hometown for community jam sessions.  When not playing baseball or music, I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors where I hike, fish and hunt with my father.

These hobbies are great fun, but I am devoted to the game of baseball.  I constantly strive to improve my game, both physically and mentally.  I realize that hard work and commitment are necessary to be an outstanding athlete.  I’ve also come to realize that the mental game is as important as the physical game and strive to be focused and mature both on and off the field.

I am a committed student who works hard to maintain a good GPA and learn all that I can in school.  Athletics are important, but school must come first.
