Baseball has always been very important to my life. Ever since I could hold on to a bat, I was always somewhere swinging to try and hit a ball. I have played baseball my whole life but it was very hard to be around the sport as much as I wanted because I was home schooled. Home schooling takes a lot of dedication and I did not have the free time to go out after school and practice like you would during school season. I also participated in Boys Scouts which took up a good amount of time as well, but was worth it in the end when I achieved the Eagle Scout Rank. However, this did not stop me from doing what I love. I have played on many travel teams and this year was the first year I have attended public school. The atmosphere and teammates made it worthwhile.
I am looking for a program that will suite me best athletically and also academically; education is a very important piece of my life. Baseball has taught me to keep my cool in situations throughout the sport but also throughout life. The sport has also taught me how to work with others and my coaches do an amazing job of teaching the players about good character. I believe I have the skills to compete at the college level as well as containing the work-ethic and character the sport deserves.
