Personal Statement

Hello...I am Collin Headrick and very interested in a possible spot on a 2021-2022 baseball roster. I am currently a senior at Nedrose High School, Minot ND, and I wanted to introduce myself and give you a bit of a background. First, as you know I was shorted my junior year of high school baseball (Thank you pandemic) which I know is the recruiting year, so I am advocating for myself and getting out their to make my dream of playing collegiate baseball come true.

I have been playing baseball since the age of 4 working my way up from T-ball, Peewee, Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth and Legion. Most recently playing high school baseball with Surrey (ND) Mustangs from grade 7-12 and Legion with Surrey Blue Sox since my 8th grade year. I participated in the Minot State University Prospect Camp on Sept 12, 2020.

As you can see from my Academic tab, I have not only played baseball locally, but also around the United States including Billings, MT, Fort Myers and Vero Beach, FL, Minnesota, Arizona and Las Vegas/Henderson twice.

I started Cal Ripken as a second baseman and pitcher with great coaches and added third base during my Babe Ruth and Legion years which makes me an all-around infielder with great knowledge of the game. I also did some games of fill-in catcher. Baseball has always come easy for me and I have had coaches at a young age tell me that I have great knowledge for the game and anticipate plays before they even happen.

Even though I have spelled out my baseball career I also played 8 years of hockey with Minot Hockey Boosters, youth basketball with YMCA and JR/HS basketball lettering my junior year. As you can see sports are in my life but baseball is in my blood.
