Personal Statement

I, Jordan Edrington am shooting to play baseball in college. I am looking for a team to give me a chance to prove I am capable of playing at a high level of baseball. I am a hard working, never give up type of player. I can play wherever I am needed, just put me on the field and I will go play. I can play with whoever and will help improve them as I improve myself. In the game I can play any role. I can bat in the top, middle or bottom of the lineup, whatever that would help the team succeed. I am not like most other athletes in all categories. I am enrolled in all Honors and AP courses in the school, and try to get involved with helping my school become better everyday. On the field I am not a selfish player. I care about the team, I do whatever is needed to improve our team succeed. The biggest thing that would separate me from everyone els on the field is that I am always learning. I am a student of the game. There is always something to learn during the game if I am playing or not. One thing that I always think of is you either succeed or you learn. I, Jordan Edrington would love to play for any school that I could improve the team as any role on the roster.

  • 2/17/18 6-foot-1 and 150-pound right-handed pitching prospect with projectable frame. Efficient delivery that requires minimal effort. Counter rotates through leg lift, level shoulders and good direction during the stride finishing closed at foot contact. Uses a long arm action and low-3/4 slot. Fastball is mostly straight while sitting 70-74 MPH. Shows feel for the changeup, at 67-69 MPH, the pitch has some cutting action. Best secondary offering is the breaking ball, at 65-66 MPH the pitch has sluvry action through the zone. Two-way prospect. A righty swinger that starts in a balanced setup. Creates both balanced and separation through loading sequence, incorporating a back load during his short stride for timing. Finds plane well and produced consistent line drive during BP. Both hand speed and strength are on par for class. Generated his most natural ball flight to the middle of the field. In the infield he moves light on his feet and maintains actions on the move. A sure-handed defender with fluidity to his actions. Displayed the hands for the middle with arm strength profiling him at second base presently. • You ran a 7.56 60. We usually like our middle infielders to run closer to a 7.0. I liked your swing just keep working on consistency with it. Defensively, work on more arm strength. I liked your fielding ability and your feet for a middle infielder. Good luck this season and keep me updated on new videos and schedules.

  • Starts in a wider setup at the plate. Mechanically simple with feel for the barrel. Squared up all swings in batting practice. A top of the lineup guys that uses the whole field. Flashed above average bat speed. In the infield he showed quickness to his footwork approaching the baseball. Fields the ball deep in the middle of his body. Would be aided by creating angles in his pre fielding footwork to play through the baseball more efficiently. Moves well laterally and glove skills stay on the move. • 1/28/17 to 1/28/17
  • On the mound, the 5-foot-10, 140-pound right-hander has a slower tempo to a delivery that requires some effort. Uses long back arm action while working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sat 69-71 mph and was consistently in the zone. Spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with gradual break at 58-64 mph. Still developing feel for his changeup. The pitch had late run and sink when in the zone. A righty swinger that starts in a balanced setup at the plate. Uses a short stride for timing while taking his hands to launch. Bat gets through the zone on a mostly level path. Bat is quick and showed solid strength through contact. Consistently hit line drives with backspin to the middle of the field. Skillset fits throughout the lineup. Projects as a second baseman. Average foot speed. Does a good job of creating angles. Made plays to glove side and back hand. Throws from ¾ slot with some stiffness to his arm action. IF Velocity: 73 Home to 1st: 4.38 Exit Velocity: 79

  • 5-foot-9, 110-pound wiry frame. A right-handed swinger that starts in an athletic, open stance. Is able to keep his hands in a strong position to stay balanced during his aggressive stride forward. Taking a level path to the ball he was able to reach a top exit velocity of 73 mph. In the infield he showed off footwork and a transfer that had quickness to them. Has obvious confidence in his glove and was able to field the ball out in front of his body. From a low-3/4 slot he threw across the diamond with 63 mph arm strength. on the mound he uses a 3 pitch mix from a high 3/4 slot. His fastball sat 62-64 mph and was complimented by his changeup at 56-58 mph. His best offspeed pitch was his 54-55 mph curveball that had gradual break at an 11/5 tilt.

  • 60 Time: 7.95 - You need to work hard to improve your speed. Speed is a critical part of the game at the next level and a sign of overall athleticism. Velo: 61-62. You could benefit a great deal from improving arm strength. This can be easily done through a good long toss program. Defense: You have good hands for fielding the baseball, continue to improve your overall actions and footwork. Improving speed will also help you improve range and explosive ability. Hitting: Your showed decent bat speed. Continue to work on engaging your lower half in your swing to improve overall power. Focus on staying inside the baseball to improve your swing path and direction to contact.
