Blake Farley 2019...Personal Statement
I am a 5'10" middle infielder from Hudson, OH and part of the 2020 graduating class. I have a 4.3 GPA, 28 ACT(if super scored over 30 and taking one more time), part of a distinguished honor roll, Scholar Athlete, help coach Youth Baseball (will be the 12U Coach going to Cooperstown in 2020), Huddle (mentoring youth), member of Drug Free Club of America and part of my High Schools leadership conference. I do enjoy school, life and paying my experiences forward.
In theory, I would like to attend a school with a highly respected academic curriculum that would give me an opportunity to play baseball. Currently, I am planning on majoring in some type of engineering, but that may change as I narrow down my College options. . Academics and Baseball are similar in ways that it is an honor that I will be able to play the game I love at a College I will love.
Some additional qualities I pride myself in include: Team captain, respected & coach-able teammate. SS who can also play 2nd, bats left with nice baseball speed. I have a strong on-off season work ethic including spending time with a hitting/MIF coach and lifting.
I currently have 9 schools that I am in the process of learning more about (visits, overnights, admissions). My goal is to narrow that to 3 in November to take advantage of Early Admissions so I can focus on my final year of High School Baseball.
