Personal Statement
Collegiate Goals and Aspirations: Basically, I love the game of baseball and I can't imagine not playing competitively again once high school is over, With that said, my academic goals supersede my athletic goals and I'd like to eventually strike a healthy balance between being a college student and being a student athlete. Baseball is a cerebral game; my mind is naturally drawn to the sport. It's my game.
Why I'm a good candidate for a team: I believe I have the focus and prioritization skills to be successful in the classroom and on the diamond. I really enjoy being a good teammate to the guys on my squad. I am a "team first" kind of player; my individual successes will come if I am a reliable and helping teammate.
My differentiators: I practice as hard as I play. I respect my coaches. My parents support me while staying out of the way. My body language is consistent; my reactions to bad and good results are very consistent. When I struggle, I put that last pitch behind me; when I succeed, I put that last pitch behind me and focus on the batter and the situation. I am an honors student and hope to bring that thirst for knowledge to my college and my ball club.
