Going to Cooperstown when I was in sixth grade has been the highlight of my baseball career thus far. Each day was a learning experience, but one experience that has stuck with me to this day is that no matter how intimidating a team may look, if you stick to your game plan, all will be well. I walked around as a sixth grader standing in at five foot on the dot. I walked up and down the grounds of the dream park noticing that everybody was a good six to seven inches taller than me. Being that short compared to everyone else intimidated me at first, but it was just a mental roadblock on the path to success during that week. All the teams we played had these kids that were much taller than I was, but I stuck to my game plan at the plate, in the field, and on the mound, and the week went great. I have also learned the value of hard work and commitment this game requires. The amount of work that is put in off the field is proportional to what is reflected on the field. While the game speeds up and gets more difficult at each level, lots of extra work is required to keep up with the game that gets harder each day. Some of my achievements in my athletic and my academic careers have been my recent nomination for Junior Leadership Association in Akron. Out of the entire class of 2020, my teachers are allowed to choose two people from our class to attend. And I was chosen to attend. Also, I have made High Honor Roll for every quarter of school so far through my two years of high school. This requires me to get a 4.0 or higher GPA every quarter. And during the spring when I have a baseball game just about every night, this can be challenging, but knowing that I can manage a 4.0 and play baseball at the same time really keeps me going through the school year. My academic goals for high school have been to do to the best of my abilities. I want to have a purpose of going to high school, which is gaining the most knowledge and new perspectives as I can in the seven hours that I am there. One of my unique characteristics that I possess is my ability to venture and try new things. All of my sports/hobbies that I participate are because of my adventurous personality and my passion of learning new things.
