Personal Statement
When I select my college, I plan to not only select the college who has the best baseball program for me, but to make sure that my college of choice has an elite academic program as well. While attending college, my goals consist of attending the university for four years and obtaining a degree in business and management while maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average. I also plan to push all of my teammates and myself to the best of their abilities and strive to achieve my ultimate goal of winning a national championship. I play three high school sports in baseball, basketball, and golf. For all three of these sports, I am one of the three team captains as a junior. I am a leader in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom for my peers, and especially my teammates. I feel that as a captain of these teams it is my responsibility to make sure my teammates and myself are always putting on a positive display of our team and community, on and off the court or field. My teammates and I are very close to each other and do nearly everything together and are never afraid of a challenge. We are always working hard to make our team and ourselves better. When I put on a jersey with my schools name on it, it is something I take pride in. With a long history in basketball as well as baseball I play knowing the alumni are watching. I like to put it all on the field and court to make sure my peers and the alumni of the school are proud of how we play and are proud graduates of the school. One of my main focuses is sportsmanship and respect. I am a competitor and winner, there is nothing I hate more than losing, but I understand that you can't win every game. Win or lose, my head is held high knowing I put everything I could into the game and I put my team in the best position I could to win. Respecting the opponent and officials of the game is key as well, I am always sure to display respect and sportsmanship to the best of my ability and put on a promising image of myself and my school and team.
