Personal Statement
College and college baseball have been two of my goals since I was little. My grades are important to me and I work hard on my school work. I am proud of my GPA and my National Honor Society status and I plan to attend a college where I will be able to excel in the classroom and graduate with a degree that will lead me to my career.
My Dad has coached baseball since I was born, so I’ve always played baseball and dreamed of playing when I was older but I knew as I entered high school that I wanted to pursue a baseball career beyond high school. I played basketball and baseball my freshman and sophomore years but stopped playing basketball so I could put in more work in the off season to be ready for baseball. I possess a competitive drive that pushes me to do everything to have an edge and win. My parents have taught me to have a tireless work ethic to better myself and my game. As I've gotten older, I’ve learned how passionate I am about baseball. The summer of my freshman year I broke my wrist on my glove hand, and when I was back and healthy I had to start from ground zero. This fall I lost my role model and favorite person (my Nana), and I still played my entire fall season, which took determination and grit. Many days this year what kept me going was baseball and my desire to be the best. Even after our season was cancelled, I didn’t just quit. I found a way to get in workouts so I would be ready when I was able to get back on a field. I think it’s safe to say I have a competitive drive that makes me want to have/gain an edge over everyone to win. I just love the game.
