Personal Statement
My many years experience competing in sports from a young age have greatly influenced the person I am today. My interest and love for the game of baseball began when I was three years old watching my older brother play in the local recreational league. Learning to be a good teammate, overcoming adversity, and challenging myself to become a better student athlete has shaped the person I am today. Working through hitting slumps and experiencing tough losses on the mound present an ongoing challenge that with reflection and continued hard work will help me continue to grow and learn. The long term friendships developed over the years through my baseball experiences are invaluable.
My academic goals for high school are to remain a solid A student and continue to challenge myself with honors and college preparatory classes that will provide me the best possible foundation for success in college. Playing baseball has taught me that failure is sometimes a big part of the game. Using my experiences with failure and success to improve my character, problem solving capabilities, and baseball skills will greatly impact my future accomplishments in the game I love and all aspects of life.
