When I was five years old is when I started playing baseball. As I got older baseball was a big part of my life. Every practice I went to I treated it like it was a game. When I was 13 years old is when I joined the Curve Jr. team. The reason I went to Curve Jr. was so I could learn new drills. That year the Curve Jr. coach asked me to join the travel team as a part time player. Then when I was 14, I was asked to play as a full time player for Curve Jr. When I was asked to play, on the team he put me on the 16 year old team to play with more experienced player. It was hard at first but then I thought to myself if I could play against more experienced players, I could get better as a player. At first coach played me in the outfield for the longest time, but then one game coach put me in to pitch and told me throw strikes and pitch to contact, and that's what I did.
When I was in 9th grade my family and I moved to Claysburg. Before baseball started I was approached by the varsity baseball coach. He asked me if I would like to come to a couple practices, I told him yes. Then he asked me after a couple practices if I would like to join the varsity team I said yes. The reason I said yes was because I wanted to be pushed. I wanted to play against other experienced players. My 9th grade year went well for me in baseball, I saw a lot of opportunities to pitch any time the coach told me to warm up to pitch I was ready to go in and pitch. My 10th grade year, I pitched a lot for Claysburg. I was a closer for Claysburg. I feel more comfortable being a closer because I like finishing the game. What I think about when I'm on the mound is that I'm going to throw strikes and throw to contact. I go by a saying “ If the coach isn't yelling, he doesn't care. “ What that means is that if the coach is yelling he is yelling to make you a better player. The reason why I love baseball is because when I was young my dad and I always went outside and threw till it was dark. Also, after all my games, I loved when my parents and teammates would say, “good job pitching.” Then I knew I did my part as a player.
