It has always been my dream to play baseball at the next level. Growing up I've played other sports like basketball, football, and I've even wrestled, but baseball has always been my passion. I work hard in everything I do to become a better student athlete. I take great pride in my athletics and my school work.
Ever since I was about six years old baseball has been a big part of my life. Baseball is a game I love playing and I work hard every day to better myself. I never found it a burden to go to practice almost every day. I feel that practice time is a great way for me to work on my skills that I know and learn new ones. I come from a small town and my family never really had the money to put me through travel leagues and clinics. My baseball knowledge comes from the many coaches I've had growing up, my dad and just watching the game being played. I play every chance I get. I play in the spring for my high school, the summer for my local summer league team and in the fall.
Baseball isn't the only thing I take pride in though. I also take pride in my school work. I realize that being a student athlete means being a student first. I always put my school work first and then I focus on other things. I work very hard to maintain good grades, and I always put forth my best effort in everything that I do.
I take great pride in continuing to better myself. I haven't decided on a major yet nor do I know exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life, but I do know I would like to get the best education that I can. Since we don't have a lot of money I know that an athletic scholarship along with academic scholarships would be a great help to my family. Given the opportunity to continue toward my goal would be a dream come true.
