Like many athletes I have the desire to play baseball in college. As a competitive and coachable player, I focus at all levels of training. This year (sophomore) I decided to work on endurance by joining the cross country team. This has helped me more than just physically but mentally. From week one to districts and all the way to states I was able to achieve my goal and beat my previous personal record. Improving my running allowed me to cross it over to the baseball field, I have improved my speed running around the bases. Baseball over the years has been like cross country this fall, in that practice is important to achieve your next level of excellence. l approach every baseball practice to be better that day than I was the day before. I am very focused at practice taking in all the information and input my coach provides. Like learning in practice and on the ball field , I always strive to be the best I can be in the classroom.
I pride myself in being a good leader on and off the field. While I was recognized at school with a leadership award my most rewarding accomplishments are the multiple thank you I have received over the years from teammates and their parents. I always try to be the positive, calming presence on the field and in the dugout.
