Personal Statement
Going to college and playing baseball has been something that I have been dreaming of doing ever since it has been a possibility. I have devoted myself into making this happen. By doing daily exercises, workouts and practices to get myself to the collegiate level of baseball. Something that separates myself from nearly every other player is that I work. What I mean when I say "I work" is that basically I do what ever it takes to get to that next level, if a coach tells me something that I need to work on, I keep working on until I correct it. Or if I am told to do this every day to maintain my mechanics in an aspect of the game I do it. There's a quote that I live by when it comes to baseball or anything that I am compassionate about "There may be people who have more talent than you, but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do - and I believe that." - Derek Jeter That quote sums up how I go about practicing and preparing myself to play this game. Aside from the physical aspect of the game I prepare myself mentally to play, by never showing emotion and not letting anything negative stay with me through out a game. Which I have seen to make a huge difference ever since I have started doing this. Lastly I take pride in the uniforms I wear and always play with respect and as a leader on any team that I play for. Because I know that one day it will be over whether it is in a year or two or if it is thirty years, I know that one day I will not be able to go out there and play the game that I love. So I take advantage of every game and of every moment I get to have on that diamond.
