Personal Statement
To whom it may concern,
My name is Nathan Evans. I am a Senior at Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I graduate in the year of 2021. I play for the Varsity baseball team at Northeast and I have been playing on the Varsity level since Freshman year. During 2020, we were all struck with the COVID-19 pandemic. This, however, did not stop me from becoming better. I tried out for the Anderson Monarchs showcase team in desperation of playing in the summer and fall of 2020 since I was now too old to play for the fall ball squad that I usually played for. So I try out for the Monarchs and I get a text saying that they were impressed with my work and I made the team! We wasted no time to get in better shape and to make my skills more efficient and clean. This season was very unusual but it definitely was one of my favorites! In the summer of 2018, I played for the Phillies Jr. RBI Team and we went to the RBI World Series. We made it to the Championship and lost with a final score of 5-3 to the Tampa Bay Rays RBI Team. Also, during that same summer, I did baseball workouts for 8 weeks with Del Mintz, the former Philadelphia Phillies scout. These experiences drove me to get better and better everyday as a person and athlete. I've always have had an incredible passion for baseball and I would love to be able to bring my skills to the next level. I play many positions as I am a versatile player. My main position is RHP and my secondary position is CF. However, I have played many other positions like SS, 3B, 1B, and even C. My dream for baseball is to play professionally and play for the Philadelphia Phillies. I know my game is good enough to make it and I am very determined.
Sincerely,
Nathan Evans
