Personal Statement

I am a High School graduate from Lazaro of the class of 2022. Throughout my four years in High School, I was able to learn the most important things a student could have been taught, which are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. During my high school journey, I have encountered many challenges, which have shaped me into the person I am today and it made me a stronger student in my academics. I am a student who likes challenges and likes to motivate other individuals to achieve success. I am a true believer that you can achieve anything that you put your mind to. I have been through so much in my life and if I’m being honest my high school journey has not been the easiest but I have never given up on my dreams. I think it is never too late to go after what you want in life and that's why I'm writing this statement today because my dream is to become a professional baseball player. I have never given up on my dream and I never will no matter what obstacles I have to overcome in my journey.

I have always been very passionate about baseball. I started playing baseball at age seven. When I first held a bat was at age three when my father immediately saw the talent in me and pursued me to play baseball. My father has always been my number one fan and an inspiration to me. He has been with me in every step of my baseball journey and has never given up on me. He taught me everything that I know today since he was also a baseball player.

To me, I have never thought about doing anything other than baseball. When someone would ask me what do you want to become when I grow up my answer has always been a baseball player.

I have never thought about doing anything other than baseball but I had to be realistic with myself and dig deeper into other areas that might interest me other than baseball because life is so unpredictable and many things can happen. More than baseball, I want to excel in life. I want to have an education and be the best version of myself. I want to look back on life and know that I did everything in my power to succeed in life and create a future that I and my family can be proud of.

In a world where baseball didn't exist to me, one of my biggest interests is to be a Physical Therapist for athletes. I would love to be a medical professional to treat and care for sports-related injuries. I would like to work with professional sports athletes and active individuals in both physical therapy and sports medicine specialty. I also have a huge interest in Business. Being an athlete and getting injured can be crucial in your career. It can end your career in the blink of an eye. I have personally gotten injuries and I have been out of the field for six months in my baseball journey. That for me was crucial in my career because I was not able to do anything. After all, my wrist was injured. I was depressed and wanted to quit baseball. I would love to pursue this because I would want to inspire other athletes that might be going through the same thing not to give up on them and always look forward. After all, there is so much to life other than baseball even when it is so hard to accept.
