Gayge is a strong 3B/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Gayge shows efficient footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Presenting his glove out in front of his body can help Gayge field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes his stride on time. He gets back into his load and leads well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Gayge can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. With three more years to develop, Gayge has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/04/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Gayge continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He work to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a level swing path

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Gayge is a coachable SS/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Training at Pirate City. In the field, Gayge makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Gayge improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in open stance with comfortable hands. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives to the opposite field. Gayge can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Gayge is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.
