Personal Statement

My name is Henry (Hank) Morrison. I am just beginning my senior year at Warren Area High School, Warren PA. I am very interested in furthering my education and career in baseball with any Division I, II, III, NAIA, or JC. I am 6'2" and 194 pounds. I play 3B, 1B, and OF as well as a relief pitcher. I bat and throw right handed. Currently I am throwing between 79 and 83 MPH and also swing the bat 93 mph exit speed. In addition to Warren Area High School (Varsity), I am a current member of STARS traveling baseball team based out of Falconer, NY. I have played baseball since I was 5 years old and have been a member of several Warren, PA little league baseball championship teams, usually batting in the 3,4,5 positions. I feel I am considered a line drive/power hitter. I love to be at bat with the game on the line...I live for it. Also, the challenge of entering the game as a pitching reliever to stop a rally. It is truly my dream to continue my baseball career and carry it over into a profession some day. I am dedicated and focused on becoming the best I can be and playing at the next level, wherever this may be. I believe in letting my actions on the field speak for themselves, and being respectful and humble of the players and fans alike. I have a superb attitude and am a somewhat "quiet" team player. I rarely show extreme emotion or celebration upon my successes. Although it happens from time to time, FAILURE is not in my vocabulary! I learn quickly and adapt and am willing to sacrifice to reach my goals. I really want to go to a school (Large or Small) where I can get a quality education and excel at what I love the most...baseball. As a freshman, I want to be an impact player that a coach can rely on when the game is on the line, either with my offense (hitting/running) or defense (pitching). Presently, my desired major would be Criminal Justice, or Education.  I enjoy working with kids both in the schools and the local little league.  I recently played fall ball with the Allegheny Pirates in the Pittsburgh Area, coached by Mr.Fred Albert ([email protected]).   I also used to be a three/four - sport athlete, enjoying golf (J.V./Varsity High School last year and (J.V./Varsity Basketball Player) for Warren Area High School. Previous to my sophomore year, I also played football (WCYFL) Warren Co. Youth Football League through grades 3,4,5,6 and Junior High 7,8 & Freshman(full contact-pads), as a quarter back and line backer. I also was a STATE Jacees Champion in PPK as an 11 year old - Penn State. My first love is baseball and what I excel at the most. I plan on participating in only two sports from here on out in high school (Baseball and Basketball). Basketball is to keep me in shape in the off-season.
