2022 HighlightsPersonal Statement
My name is Carter Smith. I am a senior at Collinwood High School in Collinwood Tennessee. I am currently employed at our local grocery store, play baseball and basketball, and active member of Mt. Hope UMC. I am a member of the Beta Club. I have loved the sport of baseball since I as far back as I can remember. I have so many influential coaches that have poured into me as player and as a person that I am so thankful for. My goal is to play at the college level while getting my degree in secondary education and becoming a coach. I want to give young people the encouragement and confidence that was given to me by my coaches. I have helped with baseball clinics for the youth players in the community and worked one on one with players who need a little extra help. I have loved every minute of it.
I currently play 3rd base, short stop, and pitch. I have played 1st base, 2nd base and outfield in the past. Covid and injury has made the last two seasons difficult for me. I miss the game when I can't be on the field. I have taken this time to get stronger on and off the field. I have been working with a pitching and hitting coach during this time. I am looking forward to the 2022 season.

- Strength- workout with bands, weight training and speed. Hitting- tee practice, front feed live BP, focus on mechanics. Throwing\fielding- work on back hand, right and left fielding mechanics and live pitching .

- After Ulnar collateral repair, I was placed on throwing program to rehabilitate my arm. As of October 26th I am throwing from distance of 180 feet. The next step will be pitching from flat ground.
