Sebastian Gaytan '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Sebastian Gaytan and I'm wanting to major in either Film or Social Media marketing, it just depends on what opportunity is there. Overall I am a good student with average grades. I am also a very coachable player and am always open to new advice, and I have started on my varsity team as a second baseman since Freshman year. Everyday I either do the fundamentals as in tee work or groundballs and always try to incorporate some type of secondary workout such as weight lifting, speed and agility training. I understand that there are better players than me with possibly better skills than me in many things, but one thing I can assure you of is that no one will outwork me. On and off the field it is very important to me to always put 100% of my effort into what I do, especially the sport I love that is Baseball. Nothing will stop me from trying to improve and doing what people say I can't do, and this might not make me any different from any other student athlete with dreams and aspirations but what does make me different is the passion I have for this game and the motivation I have. When I was 6 years old watching my father play as a 3rd baseman for a team back in his home town, I would always say to myself that I would be better than him and accomplish more with the sport of Baseball than he ever did. Ever since then, I have been pursuing that goal even with all the obstacles I have had to face throughout my life. Eventually though, my hard work will pay off and be shown in this in my upcoming seasons, and the amount of improvement I make mentally and physically throughout the off-season.
