Personal Statement
I have had coaches, parents, and teammates speak to myself and my mother of the character I display being one of respect and passion that impacts those around me. I believe in my ability to be coach-able, and find comfort in being on the diamond with a team that has a true love for finding peace and competitiveness as one when on the field. I focus on the overall need for the team, put hard work into my role to meet the need, and dedicate myself to the team so we can achieve our goal.
Since I was 3 years old my mother has raised me on her own, and her sacrifice and support for my baseball and academics drives me to succeed at any and all things I work towards. My work ethic comes from a very strong woman, and I am proud to have that and to show that in my athletics and academics. I feel the need to be calm in scary situations or take initiative because that's how my mom has raised me to be, to settle down and breathe under pressure. My mother raises me to understand the output is a result of the input in all things you do. So, I take initiative to have a relationship with my coaches and teammates to better myself and the team.
