Personal Statement

Hello,
My name is Tyler Allen.  I am a member of the 2013 class at Deer Park High School in Deer Park, TX.  I am primarily a left handed pitcher, but I also play first base and the outfield.  I am currently 6'02" tall and weigh 195 pounds.  This summer I am playing for Houston Heat Silver.  I was invited to attend the Area Code Texas Rangers tryout, while at the tryout, my fastball was verified at 92 mph.  With the Heat, we will playing in Marietta and Joplin before the summer is done.  Last summer I played for the Houston Banditos 18U Gold team, two of the bigger tournaments that we played in were the Texas State University Showcase and Perfect Game in Marietta, GA.  I also attended prospect camps at the University of Houston and Lamar University.  While at the U of H camp, my fastball was verified at 88 mph.

I throw a 2 seam and 4 seam fastball, a curve, a changeup, and a slider.  I consider myself a team player, when I am not in the game, you will find me on the fence of the dugout watching and learning from my teammates.  Going into my senior year, I have taken on the role as a team leader on and off the field.  Teaching some of the younger players what it means to be a Varsity player, what it takes to be mentally and physically ready for the season.  I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old, I have been working hard to get the chance to play in college.
I am looking to attend a school where I will have the opportunity to play as a freshmen.  I feel that I have the ability to help a program succeed.  In big games, I want to be on the mound, I want to be the one that the team depends on.  I am open to several types of schools, I plan to pursue a career in Criminal Justice / Law Enforcement.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
