Gunnar has dedicated himself to his love of baseball. He is the consummate "team player" and has consistently gone the extra mile both in his flexibility across multiple field positions (OF and 1B) and is a strong team leader. Gunnar's dedication, determination to incrementally improve, and his willingness to receive constructive feedback from coaches sets him apart. Gunnar's goal to play at the next level has never faultered as has his dedication to be the best he can be with family, school, and baseball.

Established in 2005, Stix has facilitated college commitments for players every year. In the last seven years, the club has seen 30-35 players placed annually.

PG Top Prospect List Notes: Gunnar Engle is a 2023 OF/1B/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Lantana, TX who attends John H Guyer. Engle was impressive with his consistency at the plate showing impact to both sides of the field. Well-rounded athlete and tools shown through the workout and a great round of BP he transferred to game play with several hard barrels. Impacts the game on the bases as well with a solid motor and 6.80 run tool. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned well throughout build. Runs well, posted a 6.80 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, loose and easy strides on the approach to the ball and plays through it well with momentum, remains balance in actions, higher release point and shows carry on throws to the intended base, repeats actions. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and incorporates physical strength well into swing. Big load onto backside at start, swings with intent and shows nice present bat speed through the zone with a handle for the barrel. Strength in hands plays and looks to lift at the point of contact, occasionally gets uphill with swing path, nice carry when squared. Good student. Named to the South Central Top Prospect List.

Gunnar Engle is a 2023 OF/3B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Sammamish, WA who attends Skyline. Medium frame with some physicality to the build but remaining room to fill out. Ran a 7.19 second 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front and comes through it well, carries momentum into transfer with a higher release; will improve results on throws as he works on top of the ball more. Right-handed hitter, sets up balanced and open, works short to the ball on a slightly uphill swing path, has some quickness in his hands and has the ability to turn the barrel over but generated most of his line drive contact to the middle of the field.
