Personal Statement
My name is Aiden Simpson, I am a senior at Lebanon Trail High School in Frisco, Texas, and I am 5’ 9” and weigh 140 pounds, and play catcher. When I first started playing baseball, I was trying different sports, but in the end I loved baseball the most. Since my first time, ten years ago, it has been the only sport I play, and my main focus as it makes me feel happy, focused, relaxed, and confident to run onto the field. I have always loved the challenge of the game and all that comes with it including blocking/ framing, throwing down, and hitting. I am a very hard worker, and even when I am tired, or not feeling the best, I will still give my maximum effort to everything I do. This applies to on and off the field as I am a great student in school, and very active with volunteering around my community. For my club team and High School I have been the starting catcher for all four years. Academically, I plan to graduate with all honors while in the national honors society. For college, I plan to go to, and graduate so I can be successful in life. I am comfortable with all people, and even taking a leadership position as appropriate. As I am in leadership programs in both school and church. Both of which require nominations from staff in order to participate in. This helps me communicate clearly with everyone I interact with on the field, as well as managing the game. Through playing baseball I have learned patience, and perseverance, as well as how all of my hard work will pay off in the end. Throughout High School I have created baseball specific goals in relation to my performance of which I have created actions to insure that I can meet and exceed those goals. Sometimes I have fallen short based on injury which was disappointing but I still showed up for the team to encourage, keep stats and learn from the coach. Regardless of the challenges, my commitment and work will always continue so I can be the best I can be as a collegiate athlete.
