Matthew Hernandez '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Hernandez. My collegiate goals are to be successful and making my family proud by being the first Hernandez to go to a University. My aspirations are to complete college, make it in for baseball and leaving a mark of my name to whichever college I attend. I will be a great candidate to their team because, I will play anywhere that I'm needed for the team. I have had the experience throughout my baseball career of being coached by the former MLB players; Jeffrey Allen DeWillis (catcher), Christopher Ryan Sheffield (pitcher), Anthony Wayne Young (pitcher), Rodney Duncan McCray (right field). What makes me different is that I'm always picking everyone up, I've had to step up and play a big role at such a young age. I am prepared for any obstacle that comes before me. Athletics wise, If I'm not practicing or doing homework, I'm in the gym. I'll do whatever it takes to get me to the next level and I do not give up easily. Academics wise, I'm in Pre-AP or AP classes and I'm determined to keep my grades up not just for baseball but for my future as well.
