Personal Statement
As a student athlete, I have learned the importance of being well rounded. While I am passionate about all aspects of baseball, I have a strong desire to be both an academic and athletic scholar. I have made straight A's since 6th grade. Today I strive for straight A’s in high school and to be in the top 10% of my class. I am as determined to achieve those goals as I am about playing on a college team. My scholastic strengths are mathematics and science and I look forward to a career in Engineering, Finance or Business. My baseball strengths are in leadership, communication and athleticism. I am looking for a college that offers an opportunity for me to reach both of these goals. In return, I am absolutely committed to working my heart out and contributing to the best of my ability to the success of the team.
So far in High School, I achieved many of my academic as well as athletic goals. Some of those goals included, making straight A's, being in the top 7% of my class, being a leader on my varsity team, and making the Cy Fair ISD All-District and All-District Academic teams. I have been personally invited to academically represent my high school at the National Student Leadership Conference. My high school coach, Mr. Hooser, said that I am a team player who quickly became a team leader and one of the strongest communicators on the team. My determination to keep the team motivated on the field and in the dugout caught my coach’s attention.
I have received a multitude of baseball accolades including making the 2017 PG WWBA 2020 Grads All Tournament Team, and the 2018 PG Sunshine South Showcase Top Prospect Team, where I received a PG grade of 8 out of 10. I'm a PG highly ranked 1st baseman, both state and nation-wide.
People often comment on my positive attitude and determination. I was raised to work hard, play hard, believe in myself, and to be a team player as well as a team leader. As Babe Ruth said “I swing big, with everything I’ve got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can.”
