Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Camden Champness and I appreciate you taking the time to review my profile. From early on, playing with the Banditos Black through today with the Houston Heat, my love for baseball continues to build. My first enjoyment with baseball came from playing with friends and meeting new teammates. I loved how fun baseball was to play and being with teammates. I have learned to love the individual accomplishments within a team setting. Winning as a team is great and I also enjoy the opportunity to step up and make the last play, get the big hit or change momentum to help the team win. Whether it is doing what is necessary to help the team win or helping a teammate, I enjoy being a team player. I had a wrist fracture a few years ago that kept me out for a large part of the season. It taught me about myself and being there for the team. During my recovery, I always made sure my parents got me to every practice and game. If I was not working on the side, I was helping the coach or just being there with my teammates for encouragement. It was important to me I worked just as hard as my teammates. Baseball has also taught me about being a leader and I focus on leading by example through my hard work. I also enjoy being there individually for my teammates to pick them up and help them. Academically, my goal is to excel in high school so I can get into a good academic college. I have already started a business with a friend, buying, trading and selling shoes. As I move into college, I want to build on this business spirit academically. As I continue playing baseball in college, I look forward to learning the team and culture so I can grow into one of the team leaders. Thank you for showing an interest in me and viewing my profile page.
