Personal Statement
I have been playing sports since I was 5 years old. I played football, basketball, ran track, but baseball is where my heart feels the most passion!
At the age of 11, I decided that all my time, energy and dedication would be focused in perfecting my skills as a baseball athlete. Playing baseball has taught me to be hard working and disciplined, both on and off the field.
Being raised by two hard working parents, has taught me to always respect my coaches and teammates. They have taught me that nothing comes easy and putting in work, pays off. They have instilled respect, hard work, determination and commitment. I try my best to apply these traits in everything I do.
I'm currently 5'10, 140lbs, as a Junior. I have played on my H.S. Varsity team since I was a freshman. I play H.S. baseball and Travel baseball. My primary position is OF, and LHP. Occasionally, I also have played 1B. As dedicated as I am on the field, I am just as dedicated in the classroom.
I currently hold a 2.6 GPA, with a career plan focused on welding. My interest in college majors is Welding, Engineering, Business. If my baseball career is cut short, I am able to transition into the career field I love. One day my hope is to be a successful Master Welder, owning a company.
The college baseball program I seek has to have an educational program that can meet my career goals, and a baseball program where I can be a great asset, and further develop my baseball skills.
In conclusion, I am a hard worker on and off the field and strive to be the best baseball player, student and person every day. My dad once told me to never take any days off in the classroom or on the field. He shared with me that there are 24 hrs. in a day; divide those 24 hrs. into three equal parts (8 hrs. on working on my craft(baseball), myself, being a good son/brother/person), 8hrs for classroom, and 8 hours for reflection and sleep).
Being able to be a part of a well know baseball program and pursue my Welding/Engineering degree would be a dream, I hope to make reality.
